Eleanor's Visit

Eleanor came to visit by herself for a few days, and we had lots of fun together. We made watermelon cookies and rode the train in the park.

Cabled Baby Sweater

The knitting has been done on this sweater for a while, but today I finally finished the seaming. It's for a baby-to-be-named-later!

Another baby sweater...

This sweater is for a colleague's new baby daughter. The pattern is Mason-Dixon's "Heartbreakingly Cute Baby Kimono," and I used size 5 and 6 needles with Lion Brand Micro Spun in white. I secured the left front with a button at the right seam and used one of the holes along the edge as the buttonhole. This was quick to make -- next time I might try the garter stitch version.

A new baby sweater

I finally finished this sweater for a colleague's new granddaughter. I used Mission Falls cotton yarn and the Daisy Cardigan pattern from knitty.com. I added the sleeve stripes because I didn't have enough purple, but I think they look cute!

Mother's Day flowers!

Rachel and her family surprised me by sending these beautiful flowers to my office yesterday for Mother's Day!

Destin Trip

We had a wonderful long weekend in Destin, where the weather was a balmy 70 degrees and sunny. Here's a photo of the view from our hotel balcony.

Houston Trip

We had a great time in Houston with Rachel, Rob, Eleanor, and Thomas. We kept the kids while R&R saw old friends and attended wedding festivities. We also celebrated our 34th anniversary with wonderful takeout from D'Amico's! Here's Eleanor outside the Natural Science Museum.
