I'm not sure why Tablescape Thursdays at Susan's
Between Naps on the Porch always sneak up on me, but lately I've been realizing at work on Wednesday that it's Now or Never time. I was out of town over the weekend, the ideal time to play with my dishes. This week's table was based on some new napkins I found at Kohl's for half-price a few weeks ago. The bright yellow with orange crocheted trim napkins work well with my everyday dishes, Mikasa's Windsor Park. This placesetting also incorporates a dark blue placemat and napkin ring, yellow dinner plate from Pier 1, blue covered ramekin from the Le Creuset outlet, an everyday glass, and our silver, Lunt Belvedere.
Here's a view of the table in the dining room.
The late afternoon sun made for a challenging photo shoot! Here's a view from the other end of the table.
For a quick centerpiece, I grabbed the yellow alstroemeria from the coffee table and stuck them in a cobalt blue glass pitcher.
Here's a closer look at a ramekin, which I use for individual casseroles or desserts. Blueberry cobbler, anyone?
I will leave you with a bird's eye view.
Thanks for visiting! I love your comments, and please also stop by Susan's
Between Naps on the Porch to see some beautiful tablescapes.
I love these bright colors! Blue and yellow are wonderful together.
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the white, but the table I did Tuesday was SO colorful, the white was calming!
If you come across any whites put them aside...You may find something so you can join in. Last summer I did 2 parties, 1 all white, and one with just one color added. It was amazing to see what people came up with!
I love blue and yellow together, reminds me of a sunny cloudless day. The yellow alstroemeria are gorgeous in that blue pitcher.
ReplyDeleteLooks great, love the colors-enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThese colors are always so striking! I love your plates and the cobalt blue. Your table looks very inviting...and I'll take blueberry!

ReplyDeleteTricia, I LOVE this table. It shows that putting a beautiful table together for your family doesn't take a million accessories and tons of time- simple and beautifully put together. Love it! By the way, I have similar ramekins and use them often- they're great!

Tricia, Blue and yellow are two colors that make me swoon when they are put together! Your bright colors are so happy and sunny! They remind me a little of french country! Could this be a table in Provence? After all you do have Le Creucet!
ReplyDeleteYour centerpiece of yellow flowers with that marvelous colbalt blue pitcher is a real attention grabber. So very very pretty.
Great table! I would love to be a guest!

Trisha, I am laughing. I seem to following you around the blog world today. You almost always are the comment right above mine. :)
ReplyDeleteThis doesn't look "rushed" or "last minute" at all. It's lovely. Thank you for coming to see me today, I so much appreciate it. xx's Marsha
ReplyDeleteI just got REALLY hungry for blueberry cobbler! I love blue and yellow together so much. I think I'll be stopping by Kohl's to look for those napkins this weekend.
ReplyDeleteYellow and blue are wonderful together, as it is in your cute tablescape. Something about yellow and blue makes you dream of a sunny day and clear blue skies, even if it's rainy or overcast outside like its been in my neck of the woods. Those napkins are perfect with your place setting.
ReplyDeleteAll the Best,
Requi
PS, I enjoyed your tablescape so, I almost forgot to respond about my crystal blue iced tea glasses. I bought them from Tuesday Morning a few years ago. I have not seen them since, because I wished I bought the wine and goblet glasses that match. They were made in Austria and more info about them is at the bottom of my TT post.

This is very nice Tricia! I love the ramekins. You have done a very nice table even if it was in a hurry. I always love the blue and yellow color combo too. Sometimes my best tables start out with roosters and end up with shabby roses and sea shells. I plan them, but when you start putting things on the table your eyes take over your brain and they guide my vision.;)

Hi Tricia! This is again a beautiful table and I enjoy seeing your choice of color combinations. The ramekins are so eye catching and the blue is so lovely against the yellow and orange. Your rush jobs are great!
ReplyDeleteWhat a striking tablescape! Your colors are bright and cheery, perfect for a summer day!
ReplyDeletePlease save me a seat!!!

ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful weekend!

I'm wanting to open the ramekins and see what tasty thing is inside! Your table makes me smile, not at all dull or dutiful.
ReplyDeleteTricia,
ReplyDeleteI love the color palette you chose for this tablescape. Your covered ramekins are adorable. Isn't it fun creating a tablescape just using color?!
Beautiful tablescape, Tricia. I love the vivid colors and I have some of those ramekins. I like them!...Christine
ReplyDeleteTricia, what a beautiful table - had you not said "rush" I would have never known. The flowers the silver & those little heart shaped boxes are goregous. Great eye - nice touch! Thanks for the encouraging words!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table!!! Everything coordinates perfectly and the color scheme is so summery. I love your silverware pattern!
ReplyDeleteStriking tablescape with pretty bright colors. Doesn't look rushed at all. Good photography.
ReplyDeleteTricia, thanks for visiting me. You can grow blue hydrangeas. Next year purchase some aluminum sulfate from any nursery and follow the directions. Let me know your results. I actually have scattered charcoal remains from the grill on several of my plants to turn them pink. I think all the potash in charcoal reacts and turns the soil more alkaline.
I LOVE your tablescapes! This one especially is so blue and bright and fun and summery! I love the orange-trimmed napkins in particular.
ReplyDeleteOne of these days I will get my act together and post a tablescape of my own :)
Just love the LeCrueset heart-shaped dishes - so very cute!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a terrific Fourth of July! I appreciate always your kind comments when you stop by,
Kathy
