I ordered this tablecloth from Williams-Sonoma when it was on sale recently, so decided to see what I could pull together to go with it.
White mums in cobalt blue bottles make an easy centerpiece.
Other blue and white items were pulled from the baker's rack in the kitchen.
Here's a placesetting, starting with plain white dinner plates, everyday glasses, and my silver, Lunt Belvedere. The napkins are in a coordinating pattern, also from Williams-Sonoma.
The blue and white appetizer plates belonged to my in-laws and feature what I think are quails.
Here's a closer look at the pattern.
The salad plate is by Bordallo in the Basketweave-Blue pattern. I only have two of these, but would like to collect more!
The blue and white rabbit also belonged to my in-laws, and I thought he added a bit of whimsy to the table.
Here's a closer look.
I like the simplicity of the white mums.
Here's another view, showing a glimpse of the Knockout Roses, which have continued to bloom, despite the intense heat.
If the blue and white table didn't cool you off, maybe a dip in the pool will work!
Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to check out all the other tablescapes at Susan's Between Naps on the Porch!
Yes, blue and white is certainly refreshing. Just look at the pool, too. I love your new tablecloth. I love Williams Sonoma sales.
ReplyDeleteOh, oh, oh, I almost bought that tablecloth myself. What a great job you did with it. It looks so refreshing in the heat of the summer. I'd never have thought blue and white would look so cool and comforting.
ReplyDeleteMissed your settings for the last two weeks! The blue and white look wonderful. I am kicking myself for not getting that tablecloth. It looks so nice with the blue and white that you paired with it. You are brave to be tablescaping outsdie. It is going to be a while before I can do that again. What a pretty backyard you have!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a soothing setting...especially next to your great pool. LOVE all the blue and white. The plates are just beautiful!!!

BE-U-TE-FULLL!!!! It's stunning, and the pool! Oh when can I come over!?!?!? LOL! It's been so dreadful here, I have been going through the roledex trying to find one friend who has one! LOL! Just a reminder - my Friday Vignette's post is tomorrow, and I'd love it if you'd link up! Even pictures from this post - the vignettes are great! :) Hope you join in! :) Artie
ReplyDeleteI always love a blue and white color scheme! Those bottles and your dishes are lovely.
ReplyDeleteIf I had a pool like that, I would be tempted to jump in before the meal!
Okay Tricia, first I would like to dip in the pool...in a blue swimsuit of course and then I am ready to feast on whatever you would serve me on this blue and white refreshing table...I am drawn to blue and white...yet I don't have any! Love those Bordallo plates too and the lines so lovely. Joni
ReplyDeleteblue and white is perfect to cool off! I hear you on the heat. It's been unbearable. It all came together quite lovely.
ReplyDeleteCool indeed...may I borrow a sweater? Your dishes are named, Furnivals Blue Quail. It is also made in Brown Quail. I have them, too, and they are so lovely. You can find them on eBay if you want more. Your tablescape is delightful. Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and refreshing! Love the blue bottles and white mums. The new tablecloth and napkins really pop!
ReplyDeleteCooled me off, I'd never know it was that hot out!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table!
Sheila
Even if the temperature was 3 digits, your tablescape is very cool!
ReplyDeleteTricia, I missed this tablescape. After seeing this week's pretty scape, I had to come back and check this one out. They are both beautiful. That tablecloth is so pretty, and the change of dishes gives each setting a totally different look. Love all of your blue and white china, and I love adding the yellow to this week's table. The yellows gave the table a more casual look. So interesting to see the 2 different looks. laurie
