And here's the new one! I wanted something rustic looking with a distressed finish so we wouldn't have to worry about scratches or dents. The chairs belonged to my in-laws and have been in storage since my father-in-law moved to an independent living community earlier this year. I like the way they look with the table, although we will probably look for other chairs eventually.
This is the first round table we've had, and I wanted to try some round placemats with it. These are from Walmart -- just $1.99 each! I'm using the Elizabeth dinner plates from Pier 1 again -- love these colors for a fall table! The green napkins and flower napkin rings are also from Pier 1, and this is our everyday stainless flatware.
For the centerpiece, I pulled out a gold planter to hold some pretty red and gold daisy mums. Then I noticed a huge and beautiful pomegranate in the fruit bowl. My husband bought it to use in a dish he was making, but it was the perfect color to highlight the red in the plates and the flowers, so I pressed it into service. Since this table was set for Sunday night's supper, I added votive holders for candlelight.
These olive green glasses are from The Great Indoors, a store we discovered on a trip to Colorado. If you have one near you, you are lucky! They also sell online, though.
Here's a closeup of the daisy mums -- love the striking colors!
Here's a view looking toward the living room.
Another view. . . .
Here's one more look at the whole table.
Thank you for visiting my table this week! I hope you will leave a comment before you leave to visit all the wonderful tablescapes at Susan's Between Naps on the Porch!
Tricia, your tables are always so restful to the eye. They are so well thought out with color and ambiance. I always feel like I would be comfortable at your table and would linger over a meal. Congrats on the new table! I agree about how great it would be to have a distressed table. Mine is starting to get that look, unfortunately without intent. Maybe I just need to go with it. :) I love having different shapes to play with. My dining table is round and sometimes oblong so I was happy to get a square and rectangular patio table to have something new to play with. That pomegrante is the perfect pop of red. I love that gold vase too.
ReplyDeleteI have a distressed table but just because it has been overused! Your new round table is gorgeous! The new green glasses are very pretty and different. I also love the gold pot with the mums. The mums match the happy and fall feeling of this table. Joni
ReplyDeleteOh how pretty. LOVE your table and chairs, gorgeous. Your tablescape is fabulous. Such a lovely room. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteGreat table!!! The chairs are pretty cool with it too. The only round tables I have are outside and I have so enjoyed them. Your table is lovely. I love your china! Great glasses too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous new table and those green chairs are just enchanting. I have never seen mums that color. They are unbelievable. You are going to have such a great time with this table and we look forward to seeing it over and over again in wonderful tablescapes. (Don't you just love new furniture?!)
ReplyDeleteLovin' your new table, looks great with the chairs! You've set a fun fall tablescape-enjoy:@)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how beautifully you matched those plates and napkin rings to the daisy mums.Love the way you brought out the green with the stemware and linens.
ReplyDeleteReally, this is just a wonderful table !
You never disappoint!
The new table looks like it has found a perfect home, and I know it will be the location for many a wonderful tablescape!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your new round table...and your plates & mats look perfect with those chairs!
ReplyDeleteRound tables are so friendly! We had one for many years in the kitchen before I got the larger one we have now (on my post tonight). The green glasses are very pretty. I saw those napkin rings today in Pier 1 and was so tempted, but managed to leave without spending any $$. Maybe I'l go back--all the napkin rings are on sale! Linda
ReplyDeleteFabulous new table...I like the chairs with it. Each time I see those plates, I sigh, they are so pretty and look great on the green placemats. Those flowers are gorgeous...I had never heard of daisy mums...the colors are spectacular. Have a great rest of the week, Tricia!
ReplyDeletegreat find on the placemats, a very pretty color! I have a round table for the first time in a hundred years and I find it is easiest to serve buffet style so that I can make my table center always pretty!
ReplyDeleteGood job! Love your table!

Love your new table and the chairs are wonderful! Those mums are so pretty - but the overhead shot is stunning!
ReplyDeleteYou are a bit ahead of me. You just got rid of pretty much the same table that I have in my breakfast room and bought the round table that I've been thinking about. Are we related? I actually want a smallish round table that takes a leaf, and I want to include a small French love seat as part of the seating option. I have it in my mind; I just need to find it. Your tablescape works perfectly in your room. Well done! Thanks for stopping by my post. Come visit any time
ReplyDeleteThe chairs look really good with the table. I have bought the same placemats in two colours. I like them a lot and the price is right for sure.
ReplyDeleteI have seen those dishes somewhere before but I can't remember where. Pretty. They call out for Italian food I think.
You will really enjoy your round table. In the last few years, I have replaced all the rectangles with rounders, and I don't think I will ever go back. I have to tell you -- I adore those green chairs! I think they are perfect with your table. I am a great over of painted furniture. our tablescape is pretty as always. What I really like about yours is that it always looks real and useable.
ReplyDeleteOh I just love the table. I love the dark color of it and that it is round. I also love the chairs and I would not replace them if I were you. I think they look perfect.
ReplyDeleteFirst, you spied the pomegranate your husband bought to use in a dish HE was making? I LOVE it that your husband cooks!!! Lucky, lucky, lucky woman!!! Congrats on the new table. It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteTricia,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table. I love the colors. The daisy mums are just gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteTricia, your new table looks so pretty in that room! Are you loving having a round table? your tablescape is lovely, and those daisy mums are gorgeous, and the pot they are in is perfect for the tablescape. Great photo taking too. laurie
ReplyDeleteI love your new table, Tricia! The chairs look great, and they match your tablescape! Or is that the other way round? ;)
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are really pretty, and the pomegranate adds the perfect, unexpected pop of color!

Love the round table and the chairs are beautiful. Love your tablescape also. Very pretty and inviting. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a sweet comment. Hope you will come back again. Thanks for sharing your great tablescape.
ReplyDeleteI love it -- it looks perfect!!!!
ReplyDeleteTricia, that is lovely! The colors are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI love your new table, but your old one in nice too. I have round in the breakfast nook. Good for us since it is usually just the 2 of us. I do have a leaf for when my son, dil and 4 little ones come, and then it is oval!
If you have a CTS near you, Christmas Tree Shop, they have the round mats in every color for a dollar. They also have cotton quilted ones too.
They are spreading out all over, so if now now, maybe soon!
I loved the pic in your Vets Day post. Touching!
Tricia, I am having a White Christmas Tablesetting event on Dec 15th. I never had it in the summer as there didn't seem to be enough interest. Details are on my blog. Hope you will join in! :)
I love how the pomegranate and the gold planter look together. It's another version of your pink and yellow, isn't it? I really, really like it! I'm in the market for a kitchen table right now and have been looking for a few months. I also want a distressed look for the same reasons you stated. We've been remodeling one of our bathrooms and that's been taking a lot of my energy, but I think soon, I'll finally bite the bullet and get it.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your new table! That is along the lines I am hoping for us when we finally buy a house. A lovely tablescape!
ReplyDeleteI love your new table. The setting is just beautiful and I would like to thank you for visiting My Cozy Corner. I'm so happy I stopped by to visit you.

What a nice change your new table makes to this area! I like the chairs you've put with it and I LOVE how your dishes pick up ALL the colors in the room...even the soft blue. Great choice!
ReplyDeleteYour Veteran's Day photo was VERY touching! Great shot. Thanks for sharing that moment with those of us who have never seen it.
Hi Tricia...
ReplyDeleteI love the color of your flowera. I've never seen varigated flowers like those. Your round table is great. We went to a round table too.
