Here's a closer look at a placesetting. The straw placemats have a looped border and embroidered dots around the edge.
Here's a closer look at the nest and eggs. They look quite real. After I set the table and took some photos, I went inside for a while. My husband, who was working in the yard, came inside to warn me that birds had been checking out the table!
Here's a view that shows some of the beautiful live oaks that shade our backyard. You may also notice the solar rings on the pool, which we use to help warm the pool water to a comfortable temperature. It's not warm enough for me yet!
I got a new camera for Mother's Day that I'm slowly learning to use, so I'm including the next photo of a geranium bloom. I haven't been able to take really closeup shots like this before!
Thank you for visiting my table this week! I hope you will leave a comment before you leave to visit all the wonderful tablescapes at Susan's Between Naps on the Porch!
What a sweet sister! Love the turquoise out by the pool. It's so fresh! The little nest with eggs is a nice touch. I'm looking to buy a new camera. What did you get?
ReplyDeleteThanks ~ Sarah
Don't you love sisters who take an active interest in our hobby? Yours sure knows how to put together the accessories! Love the aqua.
ReplyDeleteHi Tricia, this is try number 3 to make comments. This is so fun that your sister knew what to get you. the little eggs and nests are so springlike. Your photos are so crisp and clear. I can't make a comment unless I sign in as anonymous -- this is Joni from Red Couch Recipes.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful gift. The nests and eggs do look real, I'm not surprised that the birds were taking a closer look.

ReplyDeleteI love both the turquoise lines and those wonderful nests. It's so funny about the birds.
BTW, I love your back yard setting.
What a great gift! The setting is beautiful Tricia, it goes so well with your pool! Also love the shot of the geranium, wish I could get that close-enjoy:@)
ReplyDeleteOOh Tricia, I just got those same placemats in a light green color, but I would have loved the turquoise! The shop only had green and yellow. Those solar rings are quite clever. What kind of camera did you get? I just got a new one too and need a class to teach me how to use all the settings. My old point and shoot Kodak gave out and refused to focus at all. Your table is beautiful! Linda
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet sister to send you the makings for a spring table to feather your nest! Love the looped edge of your placemats!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice surprise from your sister! She did a beautiful job of picking out the makings for a lovely spring tablecape. I love the color!

Hi There Tricia!
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to see you back at Tablescape Thursdays. I was beginning to worry that you'd deserted us. I saw your table last week, and it was just lovely. Your silver water pitcher looks just like mine. Now what an inviting table you've set this week. Your sister is a gem! I LOVE those placemats. The looped border and embroidered dots are precious. I love the way your turquoise napkins and placemats reflect the cool water of your swimming pool. You might want to heed your husband's warning about the birds. Two years ago I hung a new Christmas wreath with faux red berries, and from my living room window I watched a mockingbird try to eat one of the berries! Congrats on your new camera! You'll have some great close-ups now. Thanks for sharing.
Denise

What a lovely present to receive! I love those placemats. The detail on the edge and the embroidered dot really makes them fabulous- not to mention the fabulous color. The napkins are pretty, too. I love nests in nature, but not on my furniture; however, yours are not buggy, real nests so they are just perfect for the table. They are adorable! Your table setting is wonderful.
