Primary Colors

The inspiration for my table this week was this tablecloth I found on clearance at the Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma Outlet in San Marcos last weekend.  I could spend hours in that store!  I love the border print, and the yellow goes nicely in my yellow breakfast area.
I wanted to bring out the little bit of red in the border print, so I asked my husband to bring home some red flowers from the grocery store.  (He does all the grocery shopping and cooking.  And, yes, I am spoiled!)  He came home with these red Gerberas, which were perfect for the little bottles in a holder that I got for Mother's Day.  It's from the NapaStyle catalog, if you're interested.
Here's another view.  The chicken-wire holder is set on top of a lazy susan, also from Napa Style.
Since the table was for a Sunday night supper, I set it with our everyday dishes, stainless, and stemware.
Here's a closer look at a matching napkin.
Here's another view of the table.  I thought it needed a little something.
So I added some of my Le Creuset covered ramekins.  They really pull out the blue print of the tablecloth.
I love these cheery flowers!

In this photo you can see the baker's rack, which is also decorated in blue and yellow for the summer.
And -- the rim shot!
The details:
Dansk Kristina and Florencia dishes
Towle Beaded Antique stainless
Villeroy and Boch My Garden stemware

Thank you for visiting my red, yellow, and blue table this week!  I will be linking to Let's Dish at Cuisine Kathleen and to Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch this week.

  1. Well look at you with your table up already, and it's only Monday! I'm lagging and dragging and will probably go yet another week without one.

I love your inspiration linens! They are just lovely and set the stage for a wonderful table.

  5. Yes, dear Tricia, you ARE spoiled...and I'm jealous!!!!! :-) To have a man who cooks...must be nice! When I was incapacitated with my bad back one time, my husband attempted to cook for me. I told him I would rather die of starvation than to put that swill anywhere near my mouth again ever in life. It didn't hurt his feelings. He totally agreed! :-) Such a BEAUTIFUL tablecloth that makes a wonderful foundation for your table! The daisies your hubby picked out are the perfect pretty-but-not-too-serious flower to go with the ensemble. I love the way you displayed them! Very sweet! Enjoy your holiday and the rest of the week!!!

  10. OOOh I remember that tablecloth when it was in the store--we don't have a PB/WS outlet nearby but I sure wish we did!!!! The centerpiece (both pieces, really) is beautiful. That lazy susan is just gorgeous. I may have to check out that catalog! Hmm--my hubby will stop for groceries but the only cooking he does is on the grill. That he does quite well, so I will continue to pretend I don't know how to turn it on! :) Linda

  11. Good find on the linens from WS, but what I really love are the bottles in a basket. I have this thing for bottles of any kind as they make flower arranging so easy.

  12. The tablecloth and matching napkins are just lovely. Great idea to use the red gerberas to bring out that little bit of red in the cloth. Red, yellow & blue are one of my favorite color combos -- it just looks so fresh & charming!

  26. Wow, I love your table. Linens, dishes, centerpiece all great! I envy your proximity to San Marcos outlets. I was fortunate to have a short time there a few years ago. A terrible storm came up and since we had a long way to travel my husband said we had to leave.

Gerber daises in that special container are so attractive. Great table.
