Fun Family Time!

We had a lovely, family-filled Memorial Day weekend at our house.  Our first "guests" -- our son, daughter-in-law, and newest grandchild Emily -- arrived several hours before we returned from a conference, so my father-in-law picked them up at the airport. Here he is, meeting Emily for the first time.
The next day, our daughter and her family drove in, and they met Emily, too. Here's our daughter holding her niece for the first time.
Emily also got to meet her cousins, who kept her royally entertained.
And, of course, Grandmama got to cuddle with Emily quite a bit!
There was lots of time for swimming, playing games, reading, and enjoying meals together.  We also introduced Emily to Texas' finest Blue Bell ice cream.  Don't worry -- we didn't give her any at her age, but she enjoyed the container, and I had to share this photo!
Here's a photo of our daughter and son and their spouses and children, just before they all headed home.
The house felt very quiet after everyone left, but we are already anticipating the next time we'll all be together for my birthday this fall. Can't wait!

  2. What an adorable smile little Emily has. Family time is the very best, also seeing your grown children laugh and talk together. I love to sit back and watch that--and hold grandbabies!

  3. Tricia, those are some great photos, especially of the cousins. Surely Emily will be able to enjoy some Blue Bell at your birthday in October when you all reconvene--be sure to get pictures of that!

  4. You lucky woman! You have a beautiful family. Are babies not supposed to have ice cream now?

  5. Tricia, your family is beautiful! And you look way to young to have all of those grands. The pictures of Emily make me realize that our Cooper, although the same age as Emily, is probably only a couple of months old in his development. He wasn't due until late March. Cooper just met some of his family this weekend too. Fun times! And how wonderful to see Emily be held by her great grandfather. laurie

  6. Tricia! Guess what!! I found my coffee pot!!! :) Not the tea pot, but just as good. Now if I ever find a tea pot it's just going to be the icing on top.

  7. Lovely pictures of your family members. It is so important to get together and hear everyone's stories and what's been going on in their lives. So glad you had time to enjoy them all.

  11. When are whole family is together, it is just us and the 2 kids. We can't wait to have grandchildren, but I can wait until they are married.

It looks like you had fun. I especially like the one with grandpa holding Emily for the first time.

  12. Tricia, I just know this was a wonderful time. Having all the family together is a special gift that is treasured by all. The grands seem to be having a ball and it looks like the older ones are all set to show the baby the ropes. Loving the picture with your Dad, so precious.
Just so you know, Blue Bell Ice cream is my favorite of all time. My favorite flavor is Black Walnut, yummmmmm!
