Turquoise Breakfast Table

On a recent day trip to Austin, we went to Sur la Table because they were having a big sale.   Just inside the door, my eye was caught by a display of turquoise with stripes and polka dots -- all on sale!  There were also roosters involved, but my friend Michele and I have a No Roosters pact.  I tried to hold firm -- sorry, Michele -- but these napkin rings were just too cute not to bring home with me.
Here's the simple breakfast placesetting.  Please excuse the lighting issues -- the sun wasn't cooperating when I took these photos, and I turned on the light over the table for some shots.  In addition to the striped placemats and napkins, also from Sur la Table, I used woven chargers from Pier 1, our everyday stainless flatware, and acrylic stemware from Target -- bought on clearance a couple of months ago.
Here's a closer look at the stemware, which will be perfect for the patio this summer.

For the center of the table, I used two more turquoise pieces in the Sur la Table collection -- this cute ceramic berry basket and the polka-dotted pitcher.
Here's a view of the table, set in the breakfast area.
Here's a diner's view.  I hope Michele will forgive me for breaking our pact -- though, surely our agreement didn't extend to cute turquoise polka-dotted roosters?
Thank you for visiting!  I will be linking to Tablescape Thursday at Susan's Between Naps on the Porch, so be sure to check out the great tables shared there every week!

  2. Tricia, I am shocked, shocked, shocked at poultry pollution in your otherwise lovely table setting! I trusted you to not jump on the rooster bandwagon, to stay strong and fowl free and you fell! Tsk, tsk. Everything else is lovely, of course.

  5. Oooh wheee! These belong in my kitchen! I wonder if they have any more? I used to get their catalog, but it seems that I don't get bombarded with those things any more. I don't know if they have quit publishing, or I just didn't order enough...
At any rate, you know I love this table!

  6. Gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta, GOTTA have that cute ceramic berry basket!!!!!! That is just TOO cute!!! I have not seen those anywhere around here, but maybe it's because I really haven't been shopping much in recent months. Man, that thing is cute!!!!!!! I am going to forgive you on the roosters on Michele's behalf. They are cute, and I could see how they were irresistable. This is where it ends, though. Don't let it turn into an addiction. We don't want to find you rummaging through dumpsters and seedy thrift stores on the wrong side of town trying to find your next rooster fix. :-) That never ends well. Next thing you know, you'll be strung out on roosters. We'll be called to a scene taped off by the tablescape fashion police with you there, shamefully clutching roosters and imitating their morning call. And then what....pigs? Pandas??? C'mon! Break the cycle now before it gets started! :-) Have a happy weekend!

  8. Hi, Tricia! Oh, I love wandering around Sur la Table. We don't have one here but I try to find one if I am out of town. Such a pretty table! I love the colors. Pact but no pact, there is no way to resist those napkin rings. I have some berry baskets too but not from Sur la Table. Just love that polka dot pitcher. Thanks for visitng. I added some info about my plates which I tried to cut and paste here but I am clueless on this new laptop. I need a real mouse!

  9. The polka dot and stripe patterns in turquoise and white look quite pretty together, and the rooster napkin rings and the coordinating pitcher are so cute!! I also like how the woven round chargers mimic the polka dots and blend with the wood of the table, grounding your table setting. Nicely done!

  16. I love turquoise and yellow together and you have such darling things in those colors. I love the polka dotted pitcher and that little basket for strawberries. We eat a lot of strawberries and something like this would make such a cute addition to our table. Thanks for sharing your lovely table setting.
