Mama's Castleton, Part II

Last week for Tablescape Thursday  I set my mother's dining table with her Castleton Ma Lin china, and this week I'm showing the same table, but set with her other Castleton pattern, Mayfair.

As you can see, it features yellow roses with gray and rust leaves and stems -- an unusual color combination.  In the fall, rust-colored linens would be pretty with this pattern, but I think the bare table sets it off nicely, too.  The Fostoria Navarre crystal and Reed and Barton French Renaissance silver were shown in last week's post.

Here's a closer look at the pattern and gold rim.

I love the pretty teacup!

Here's one more look at Mama's stunning crystal.

Thanks for visiting, and please visit Susan's Between Naps on the Porch to see some beautiful tablescapes.

Your mom's etched crystal just makes me swoon. And putting that pretty yellow napkin in it calls attention to the design.

  16. Tricia-I love old china patterns and this one is beautiful, especially with the daffodils! Tell your daughter congrats on inheriting the Rosalinde. I picked it out as a bride and have never once regretted it. I think it is timeless and classic! Your crystal is gorgeous!

  17. Your mother's crystal is fosteria, correct? Very similar pattern to the crystal sherberts you comment on at my blog. Mine are nearly 70 years old; my mother got them at the time of her wedding from her mother's sunday school class of girlfriends. I just love them and enjoy using them, as apparently you do also! Your table is bright and cheery!

  19. First of all, I love your blog name. I have come to realize, over my brief blogging career, how funny people are. The yellow is just so pretty and, to me, unexpected in china. I also love the beautiful, delicate china. Cheers! Joni

  22. What a lovely table, and it does show off your dinnerware nicely on the bare table. I love love love your Mom's crystal glasses. The truly are stunning! Also like your dinnerware in your posts back with all the florals, they are beautiful too.
I think you should call your life (blog)the Blessed and Beautiful!! Cause that is what it really is!!
Not many people can say that about their lives.
I have to say I can about the hubby and children, and my childhood was good in many ways,
stressful in others, my parents were divorced so that makes for many many complications in life,
but it could have been worse for sure!
    Thanks for sharing your pics.
    Blessings, Nellie

  39. Hi Tricia,

I am partial to Fosteria crystal! I have my mother's Fosteria, Meadow Rose, which is very similar to Navarre. Your double candleholders are so pretty. I only have one so it is harder to incorporate in a centerpiece.

    Lovely table in every way.

  43. Sweet greetings from Frog Hollow Farm Tricia. Your table looks beautiful and that stemware is just lovely! So glad that you tried the Daffo-linis and enjoyed them - we've been working on perfecting them a bit. I really think I prefer Proseco all on it's own or with some peaches or strawberries, but we did finish several bottles of Proseco on Easter making the Daffo-linis so I guess they are refreshing!! I hope that you are able to visit my blog again soon! Ciao, bella!
